Mission

One World Cultural Arts Society (OWCAS) is non-profit organization designed to present art as a universal language and a way of healing. One World Cultural Arts Society’s mission is to increase public awareness of how artistic and cultural contributions promote the healing and the growth of human potential. Our purpose is to provide a variety of learning experiences to a diverse audience. Our programs expand the cultural interest of individuals and groups through arts and education. Our organization offers art based educational and cultural programs for the rebuilding of the community, thus creating a positive reflection of the community.

Programming

With its focus on youth programming, One World Cultural Arts Society also strives to improve cultural appreciation and understanding, student engagement in schooling, and ultimately student performance. This is carried out through afterschool programming, summer programming, and school day integration.

One World Cultural Arts Society boasts a roster of working artists in a variety of art areas: visual arts, theater, Capoeira Angola dance, movement, dance, foreign language, spoken word poetry, vocal music, instrumental music, and many others. These artists fuse with academic support to create a rich after school programming, work with teachers during the school day to integrate arts into the classroom and school culture, and embed their teaching in summer programming for youth. The artists are provided the programmatic context by which their guidance and training can have the most impact.
